It appears as though Apple users will be having further restrictions on when flying. Virgin has announced restriction to Apple and Dell users. They are third after Qantas (restricting Dell only) and Korean Air (restricting both Apple and Dell).

Virgin updated the ban, yesterday, to batteries with the affected serial numbers. I am sure a fuss was created after the first announcement that included MacBooks, MacBook Pros, iBooks and PowerBooks in the ban.

What does this mean for you if your battery in the range? The big thing is to remove your battery. You are also limited to 2 batteries. This, of course, make working really difficult! You can use the in-flight power supply if you are fortunate enough to be in a class that has them.

The real solution is to exchange your battery. Phone Apple and get a new one or do it on Apple’s site.
