Over the last few weeks I have been hanging out in a very new space. This new space involved a lot of non-Flash people who spoke about things like accessibility, web standards and all sorts of other topics that I am only starting to get to understand (microformats seems to be the new big thing). I have been learning so much about these new topics and really enjoyed talking to so many knowledgeable people about accessibility and usability.
So I am now on the other side of the ocean (Austin, Texas) at Flash Forward totally surrounded by Flash addicts. Apart from being totally knackered as I was wide awake at 3:30am local time. On the plus side – I did get to watch the sunrise over the city (I’m on the 13th floor) and have a morning swim in the pool on the roof. Ahhh the pleasure of jetlag!
I have been having a look around today and noticed something interesting from a computer point of view. Most people don’t have computers but out of those that do I would say they are more windows computers. This is quite different to the other events I have been to of late where I would say the majority was Mac.
I have still got to decide what I wanna see. Decisions, decisions… They have a really cool schedule tool to work out tracks and help make a decision. They also have “Celebrity Playlists” so you can see what your fav flasher is doing!
I am defiantly gonna catch the accessibility talk and the talk on swfObject is looking quite appealing as well.

ahh, apart from being on the 25th floor my experience was the same – you’re the only other person I know who actually went and swam there.
When I was coming back from my swim I was waiting for an elevator for ages. One finally came and the light flashed (as it does) before the door opened. So, by the time the doors did open, I was right in front of them, in my swin shorts with a towel round my neck. The lift was FULL with people I knew, like Craig Swann and Seb etc. *Very* funny
