On Friday I had the pleasure of attending d.construct in Brighton. A pity that I missed all the morning sessions but the afternoon sessions all made up for it.
Aral started the after lunch session with Mash My Flex Up. He used a style that I have not seen him use before and it went down really well. The audience, who would be typically anti-Flash people, seemed to enjoy the talk.
Derek Featherstone talk of the issues that are being encountered by developers out of the Flash world. There really does appear to very similar issues by both sides. I’m hoping that we will start to see more and more developers taking note of this topic and working together.
Thomas Vander Wal spoke about a topic that I have not had much knowledge of before – Folksonomy. It is defiantly an area that I will have to spend some more time looking into.
I think the day closed on a brilliant presentation – Designing the Complete User Experience by Jeffrey Veen. He is an incredibly inspirational presenter. I am really looking forward to this being online.
I am a bit sad that I missed the first half but the 4 presentations that I did see really made up for it. The after party was cool but I did not make it down to the crazy golf. Got to chat to loads of different people and I do hope that I will be able to remain in contact with some. There are some conversations that I would like to continue.
I will defiantly be back next year.
